I've been going to ICOR for the past 7-8 months and have learned so much from the regular and complimentary meetings that come with the basic membership, not to mention the contacts I've made for just about any scenario and path I want to purse. Some of the guest speakers do have a follow-on fee based course for whatever topic they specialize in, but that's optional. Many of the other speakers don't. I particularly enjoyed the presentation from one of the building code/zoning officials from the City of Fort Collins who spoke at one of the meetings. For me, ICOR has been a really good experience.
If you're scrolling through the review section trying to see if it's worth signing up, DO IT! I would've given 10 stars if I could, and it's mostly because of Troy! I've only joined ICOR for less than a month yet have gained tremendous amount of knowledge of real estate investing. The networking events and workshops are extremely valuable. Most importantly, Troy always makes me feel so welcome as a beginner investor–which is hard to do especially since all the meetings have been conducted virtually. So grateful to have found ICOR and Troy in my RE investing journey!
ICOR is really helpful for whenever want to learn about investing real estate in Colorado. Lots of same minds you can meet and share, love those knowledgeable webinars! Troy, the current host is very helpful and have great spirits! I would definitely recommend people to be part of it and doing investment not only for retirement, but learn to build a better mindset over years learn from the best!
Very bad experience. Warning: What ICOR seems to me to be doing is trying get you to pay for introductory seminars for a few hundred dollars, then get you to sign up for the big seminar that costs tens of thousands of dollars! For example, I signed up for a day course from a John Burley. After performing an internet search on John Burley Real Estate to learn more about his background, I became suspicious after discovering that to get the rest of his materials it costs 13,800 for a weekend boot camp or 48,000 thousand dollars to join Burley's Black Card Group where you can supposedly "make the most money ever". If this kind of scheme is what you need to be a real estate investor, then in my opinion you are just allowing yourself to be taken. For proof of this, you can internet search for Burley Black Card Program and John Burley Real Estate. I'm a permanently disabled senior living on a fixed Social Security benefit, and all I wanted was to earn couple of hundred dollars extra a month to supplement my limited income. The last thing I wanted was to possibly be taken advantage of with some kind of becoming wealthy fast scheme. After discovering the extremely high cost seminars, I became very concerned. I immediately notified in writing ICOR and ICOR director Troy Miller that I was canceling my membership and all prepaid courses, and demanded a refund. Miller's response by email to this was to get all bent out of shape and belittle me with passive aggressive insults. He was snarky, rude, unprofessional and even said that instead of refunding to my credit card, he was going to send me a check by snail mail. I let him know this was unacceptable and demanded the charges be refunded back to my credit card I paid with. What a terrible way to treat customers. (In their own posted ICOR refund and cancellation policy, ICOR clearly states "refunds.....return to your account." Nowhere does it say anything about refunding a credit card charge by check. Also, ICOR even charged me twice for the same course, then acted like it was my fault for not understanding their registration system. At no time did I ever attend an ICOR seminar, workshop or meeting, and therefore received no value whatsoever for the money I paid prior to or after cancelling and demanding a refund. After not receiving a refund, I attempted to contact Miller by phone 7 or 8 times, leaving voice mails and also sending many emails asking him to discuss the situation....he failed to return any of my calls or answer any of my emails. Miller completely ignored me. In a last ditch attempt to resolve this situation amicably, I reached out to the Better Business Bureau in the hope they could get him to issue my refund. Some weeks later The Better Business Bureau sent me a letter stating that they had "contacted ICOR on multiple occasions and not received a reply". Here again, for whatever reason...Miller completely refused to communicate, even with a respected impartial business organization. Finally, having done everything I possibly could think of on my own to secure a refund, I ended up having to file a fraud complaint with my credit card company. This caused me a huge amount of wasted time and hassle, including having to close my credit card account, wait for a new card to be mailed to me, and notify other merchants of my new card number. (After fully investigating my fraud complaint, the credit card company found ICOR in violation, and notified me by letter they had credited back all of the money I paid.) Even after all of the problems Miller and ICOR caused me, he then attempted to further harass, bully and intimidate me by hiring an attorney who sent me a letter threatening to file a lawsuit against me, if I didn't remove my factual and honest reviews. Of course this guy will probably come back on here and blame me for everything, instead of taking responsibility for his actions. I do not recommend ICOR at all.
