Customer experiences
I’m a travel teacher and booked this 3 times in an 8 day span. The first time was for 1 night as I had put the wrong start date in my reservation. I was given a first floor room with a king size bed. The refrigerator had a freezer, the bathroom was nice. The second was my actual reservation that I had requested a first floor room with a bathtub due to arthritis in my knees. When I checked in it was an upstairs room. The stairs are very dangerous with loose pieces that snag, the dryer hose needs to be cleaned out as I did laundry Saturday and after $4 and an hour and a half my light load (tights, dress pants, underwear, and tshirts)was still not dry. I was going to use the “workout room” while my laundry was washing, but the door was locked so the workout room was not available. The carpet is so dirty that my white socks were black after walking across the floor 3 times. The breakfast consist of apples, a waffle maker, and muffins that were sitting on an open shelf. On Saturday I made reservations for the following week because I was exhausted and didn’t feel like looking for a new hotel. I booked a king size room on first floor. I got there to check in at 5. The attendant asked for ID and card that the reservation was under as the older couple had down twice before. Only this attendant tried charging my card even though my reservation had been paid in full. He insisted on the deposit and I informed him that a deposit had not been requested or attempted the previous two stays. He then became more rude and told me he canceled my reservation and to leave the premises. I requested a refund and he said I needed to take that up with my booking company. I sat in the parking lot for an hour on the phone with the company I made my reservation with and they stated that the reservation was still active. He had written on my receipt canceled and then not canceled it until after he was contacted by my booking company. I then received an email that he told the booking company that the hotel was overbooked instead of he was a rude jerk. This hotel is walking distance from Red Lobster (I didn’t eat there) and Wendy’s (has the nicest staff).
I love staying at this specific Days Inn! The staff are always so kind to me & so accommodating! Not just the staff but the owner literally goes above & beyond to make sure I’m happy! Honestly, I’m sort of a picky person but when it comes to this hotel I never have to worry about putting my expectations to the side because they are always met! I have stayed here several times & everytime it’s been pleasant! I haven’t had an issue with this place one time. I would recommend anyone staying in the Anderson area to come here! The price is always fair, the staff are always AMAZING ; even the owner is always kind, the service is just all in all exceptional! 10 out of 10 all day!
Unfortunately I will never stay at Days Inn by Wyndham. I rented a hotel room, 114, for me and my 91 year old Godmother. Because of the appearance of the lobby, (old and dated), I asked the manager as I was checking was the room clean. My Godmom woke up at 2am, saying something bite me. She had bites all over her arms, neck, ears. We looked at the sheets but couldn’t figure it out. I assumed she was having a reaction to something she may have eaten. I put cold clothes and lotion to help her. At that time I didn’t feel any symptoms. The next day I started to itch and noticed my arms were also covered with bites and my as lap had on my back. I knew immediately that the hotel beds were infested with bed bug. I called the hotel to speak to manager who was not on site. I told the staff on phone what had happened and she said there was noting they could do about it and I should have reported it. So she wouldn’t take my report. I asked her to let manager know that he has bed bugs in hotel. She said he wine back latter. I unfortunately gave the hotel the benefit of doubt. As I always knew Wyndham to be a good place to stay. I don’t want anyone else to go through this experience of suffering several days of the pain of itching and irritation from bed bugs. After this terrible experience we decided to cut our visit to another Anderson short and we left the city of Anderson the next day. Benita
No option for roll away bed or rooms with a couch. Filth around floor with left over items from others. Loose electrical plugs. Sink plug stuck down. Itchy with feeling bugs and seen somethings crawling. Windows in near rooms all covered in white unknown residue. Person knocking on door in middle of night. Loose fixtures and handles. Constant banging whole stay. Unclean odor and times where present sewer odor. I see many similar comments in here where management provides an apology to each one. I don't really need an apology as a sorry is supposed to mean it won't happen any more. Obviously this has been happening for a long time. Of course it's also my fault for not reading the reviews before I booked, so I take responsibility for that. I will be treating the clothing i brought with me for bugs and hopefully that's enough needed. If you do truly have a continuous bed bug issue you should have specific treatment and understand it is costly to every person who stays here. Know that a health inspection is possible in the near future. Know that the odors and window residue is a potential health hazard and can put someone like me in a medical emergency. I had difficulty breathing when in the hotel and better soon after leaving. Just saying sorry is not okay and it will be looked into is not okay. People depend on management to keep them safe by following a clean and healthy code. It costs money to keep a hotel safe and clean. An electrician needs to fix the outlets before a child injurs themselves. The sink not draining well because of the stuck plug is just embarrassing for you and disgusting. You already know these issues exist and I can see by your many responses you know ethically you should fix them.
