Customer experiences
So we went to Huncho House for our 10-year anniversary on Friday night. Honestly, the food was really good overall, though I've gotta say, some of it was a little over-seasoned. But hey, I guess that just comes down to personal taste. We kicked things off with the deviled eggs, and the bacon jam they used was a seriously great touch. That appetizer was a hit. For mains, we ordered the lobster ravioli and the Hawaiian ribeye steak. The steak came out perfectly cooked—exactly the temp I asked for, which is a big relief when you're shelling out $65 for it. But the ravioli was kind of a letdown. It was basically just regular cheese ravioli with a lobster sauce poured over it, not actually filled with lobster meat like I expected. My final thought? The prices are pretty high for what they offer and especially for where the place is located—that was a bit of a surprise. It was good, but maybe a little too expensive for the overall experience. I was a little dissapointed by the front of House, the table wobbled and when they called to confirm my reservation there was no mention of the AC being broken which made the beginning of the meal a bit uncomfortable. We spent about 180 with no alcohol.
Travelers experience was well worth the drive and money. I was celebrating my birthday weekend by visiting Downtown D.C and staying in the Maryland area for a mini vacation. Huncho House was on my bucket list to visit and to support black owned business. All I can say is it did not miss , the restaurant was everything I expected. It is small on the inside , that’s the only downside. Like you are sitting really close to your neighbors. The ambience was so sophisticated stylish. The staff was very kind upon entering the restaurant you get complimentary wine to taste. The food is super yummy and flavorful. Very expensive but I expected that because I reviewed the menu prior. Everything on the menu I heard was good , it was hard to narrow down. So if you in the area go visit and support black business.
For date night, we pulled up to Huncho House—a Black-owned gem bringing nothing but good vibes. 💫 The food? Straight fire. The service? On point. Yeah, the prices are on the higher side, but honestly…we had a good time. Our server nailed it, and the dishes came out fast—no endless waits, just pure flavor and good energy all night long. If I had to nitpick, the space was a little tight, but it didn’t stop us from having a great time. Definitely a spot to keep on your must-visit list-It.
UNBELIEVABLE FOOD! Asian tempura Shrimp - huge shrimp cooked to perfection in a tai chili sauce I believe. 5stars Crab Cake - wife said it was delicious, and looked amazing. 5stars Hawaiian Ribeye - I was skeptical, never had an Hawaiian steak before. Was AMAZING!!!! Cooked to perfection amazing flavor. FIVE STARS!!! MASH POTATO- 5 Stars Spicy Broccolini- 5 stars Service - top notch as well, overall great place. As others mentioned a little small in the inside but some of the best food I have ever had didn’t miss.
