Beautiful, calming space with so many ways to relax and rejuvenate! Avery’s therapeutic massage was wonderful and my son enjoyed his children’s massage too!

I had the experience of working at Heal Massage in Brunswick for 3 months. I quit abruptly because the owner late canceled an appointment that I had confirmed and had already arrived to do. She didn't think it was a big deal that I had driven a half hour for the appointment and didn't communicate with me before cancelling. Before this, I was being praised by a regular client about the best massage they had ever received, and instead of telling me I did a good job, the owner told me those clients support Heal, because they support LBGQT+ business. I was confused by this because I do not represent LBGQT+ culture. I see everyone as equal and I don't put labels on people so it was distracting from my goal of being the best therapist I can be at a place I feel welcome. The owner did say that she just says things without thinking, but it made me feel out of place there. While we had our meeting, she was also on the phone and not giving me her full attention so it felt like a shallow apology. Another instance where I had a client and was checking them out to pay and the owner told me she would take care of it, so I left for the day. Only to find out the client was never charged and then was rebooked with the owner. So I had to make sure that I was paid for that session because otherwise I wouldn't have been paid. The kicker to this story is that, I have speculation that the owner is using the Alexa bluetooth speakers in each treatment room, to listen to the conversations in the sessions. I only suspect this because the speakers would make a chime and flash a light sometimes several times during a session. I looked up what made them do that, and turns out the Alexa speaker does that when someone uses the "drop in" feature. When I was hired I was told that the therapist is the most important part of Heal. I experienced the opposite.

I emailed at 7am to cancel a 3pm massage appointment because I was feeling sick. Despite notifying them early, they charged my Health Savings Account card a cancellation free the full amount of the massage cost because I didn’t give them a 24 hr notice. I later tested positive for COVID so I am glad I didn’t go in while I was contagious and every business should know that you can’t legally charge a fee to a HSA card for a cancellation fee! Very disappointing. On the positive side, Aly is very good giving massages.

This was my first time at Heal Massage and Therapy & it was nothing short of incredible. I saw Makayla, who really listened to my concerns and areas of focus, pressure, & comfortability. Her vibe was immaculate & very easy to communicate with. She added a topical pain reliever to my problem area, the room was beautiful, parking and location are top notch. I’ll definitely be back!
