I needed a bang trim on Friday and chose this salon because my usual hairdresser (Michael, who is located downtown on Quarrier street and is fantastic!) was taking a rare day off. He's an absolute pleasure every time I see him and he never charges me to cut my bangs, although I always compensate with a tip. I called the Hair Station about twenty minutes ahead of time to ask whether anyone would be available, and I should have known the professionalism would be nonexistent when a brusque woman answered the phone and barked "Yeah, come in." at me and then immediately hung up. This turned out to be Dreama, and she seemed pissed off that I was there from the moment I called to the moment I left. When I arrived I sat down in the waiting area and she immediately appeared from another room with a bitchy shout of "Can I help you?" that startled me. I entered her room off to the side and went to place my glasses and car keys on a side table near her chair, asking "Is it okay if I sit these here?", which prompted her to stare at me like I had two heads. When I sat down she told me that this was the first occasion she'd had to do this for someone, making it sound like she thought she was doing me a favor by performing the service. She proceeded to cut my bangs, ignoring the shape I arrived with (long pieces on either side), which she promptly snipped almost completely off. She did not texturize, nor did she ask me if I'd like them texturized. The whole experience felt a lot like when you're a kid and your friend's mom chops your hair off while you sit on a chair in the middle of their kitchen. When the service was over she just stood there like she expected me to hand her cash, so I said "Do you take card?", and she replied "Well *I* do, but they won't." gesturing to the rest of the salon. So to future patrons, I guess be advised that Dreama says the rest of the salon does not accept debit cards, although they totally have a machine on the counter to do so. All in all it was a really unpleasant experience and I don't plan on ever coming back.

She is also so nice and sweet, making the entire appointment enjoyable and relaxing. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a great hairstylist. A great experience all around, very happy. The facility is very clean and well designed. Nikki did a wonderful job cutting my hair, did exactly what I asked for and added her own touch. Nikki does a great job while making you feel comfortable and welcome in her chair. Nikki makes getting your hair cut fun and being professional at the same time.
