We hired Jonathan of Grenstone Landscaping to design and construct our backyard patio, landscape our backyard, rebuild our irrigation system including installing two flowerbed drip systems, re-sod our front and backyards, rebuild a section of fence, and stain the entire perimeter of our fence. We are ecstatic with the outcome, both in terms of design and quality. Grenstone transformed our backyard into an oasis that we will enjoy for many years to come. I am very selective in hiring contractors and take a long time to make decisions. I prefer to understand as many aspects of the job (materials, processes, challenges, potential scope creep, etc.) as possible before selecting a contractor. Jonathan eased my mind with his extensive knowledge of hardscaping materials and processes, plant and grass selections, irrigation systems, etc. It was quickly apparent that Grenstone were true professionals. He provided references that I personally spoke with and who gave positive but balanced reviews. Jonathan provided a detailed quote and professional landscape design that he patiently worked with me to understand, iterate, and finalize prior to signing a contract. Our biggest challenge was dealing with the elevation of our backyard and finding a way to seamlessly incorporate an existing 10’x10’ covered patio that extends off the back of our house and sits 2’-3’ above grade. We wanted this existing patio to remain functional but did not want the patio extension to have the same heightened elevation. We preferred for most of the patio to sit closer to grade and flow effortlessly into the yard without rails and large drop offs. All the contractors that I had considered could not figure out or articulate how they were going to accomplish this. Several contractors came back with designs that showed they were not listening to what we wanted. However, Jonathan figured it out within a couple of days. He designed, explained, and ultimately executed the plan flawlessly. He listened to us, brought our vision to life, and made further suggestions that improved the aesthetics and functionality of the design. Prior to contracting with Grenstone, I had my mind set on a paver patio, specifically using Belgard pavers which are manufactured pavers. Jonathan called me during the proposal period and recommended that I consider natural stone pavers, as he had just finished a beautiful job (for one of the references that he provided) using these pavers. He explained that they were less expensive, easier to work with, and would result in a more beautiful finish. He was absolutely right, and I am so thankful for this suggestion. It increased the beauty and sophistication of our patio to another level. In terms of execution, Grenstone is top notch. Carlos is the project superintendent and is amazing to work with. He exhibits all the positive qualities that make you feel confident and comfortable – great communication, knowledgeable, responsive, patient, and listens. The crew was on time every day, worked extremely hard during the most brutal heat of the summer, and was very respectful of our property. In summary, I would highly recommend Grenstone, Jonathan, and Carlos. They are true professionals with high standards and amazing attention to detail. I am very proud of this company, and we are extremely happy with the end product.

We recently worked with Jonathan and the team at Grenstone Landscaping & Masonry to plan out a major concrete project for our home, including floating steps and a new driveway. Grenstone Landscaping just completed a 1100sqft patio/drive at my home and we are very happy with the work as well as the customer service provided by Jonathan, Carlos and their crew. I called Grenstone Landscaping after reading reviews and getting or attempting to get qoutes from other business'. Carlos contacted me within a day or two and Jonathan came out to look at what we wanted done. We discussed the project and he sent a quote a few days later. After we chose Grenstone Landscaping's bid we were given a projected start date. The project was started earlier than expected and Jonathan and Carlos worked with us to design and make changes to the design during the project. A few aspects were left to Jonathan/Carlos to complete with only our discussions about what we wanted in the design and the work was great. We are more than satisfied with the patio and small pad/driveway that Grenstone Landscaping constructed. As a small business owner myself customer service, quality work and value are always what I look for in other companies and Grenstone Landscaping covered all those without fail.
