This is an edit to my original post, and I have to say that it feels great to have to add this. As a patient we all hope to be seen and heard, to have ours issues addressed, and our concerns validated in some way. Integrity and kindness can sometimes feel like lost arts, but Dr. Ferrara is truly exemplary of these qualities, and is passionate about both medicine and people. As a medical professional he goes beyond the call of duty to ensure patient care, as well as satisfaction with the experience. I am thankful that he could provide me with confidence, priority, much needed answers, and referral for important additional care in my time of need.

I came in close to closing time and was blown away by the care I received. The front desk lady was welcoming and kind no attitude at all about the time I arrived, which really stood out to me. So many places make you feel like a burden if you walk in late, but not here. The medical assistant who took me back was absolutely amazing so kind and reassuring. Then Dr. A. Ferrara took over, and I can honestly say he was one of the best providers I’ve ever encountered. He kept me calm, stitched me up quickly, and explained everything step-by-step, including how to care for my injury once I got home. This was the first time I truly felt like an urgent care provider cared. The clinic was clean, efficient, and I was in and out without a long wait. I would absolutely return and honestly, I’d love to work with this kind of team in the future! Thank you for the team working 4/22.

I love the doctors here! They are so great and talk to you like a real person! The receptionist was a little rude because I’m not supposed to pay for urgent care and she tried to charge me even though this urgent care is in my network. My insurance policy says verbatim “Gravie Comfort plans include no-cost benefits such as preventive care, primary care visits, and specialist visits for common healthcare services. Members also receive no-cost access to a variety of virtual services, including mental health care, physical therapy, and fitness classes. These services are provided with no deductible or copays on most common encounters, aiming to encourage healthy lifestyles and prevent more serious, costly health issues.” And when I explained this to her she acted like she was doing me a favor for letting me see a doctor without paying. If you can get past that, the doctors are fantastic!

I booked a 10:40am appointment for my son online, arrived on time, and still waited 30 minutes before being told—curtly—that it would be “maybe 20 minutes more” and that the booking system doesn’t actually reserve a time. The system is misleading, and the receptionist’s attitude was dismissive. When I asked for a doctor’s note, she barely looked up from watering a plant. Once in the exam room, I mentioned that I wanted a PCR test for my son. The doctor told me they don’t offer PCR tests at this location—yet I had already paid the appointment fee. Since our visit was specifically for COVID concerns, the receptionist should have confirmed if I wanted a PCR test administered before check-in to avoid an unnecessary exam and charge.

Grady Walk-In Center is a walk-in clinic.
