Deanna of E & J Salon at Phenix Salon Suites in Oswego, IL: I looked at her socials and everything seemed to look good. I wanted to lighten my hair a bit all over with high and low lights, and a haircut. When I got to her salon, Deanna told me what her plan was. She was going to start with highlights so that my roots would easily blend in when they grow out. I wasn’t aware that doing highlights was her ONLY plan. She put in foils all over the back of my hair and she went to check one about 40 minutes in and said the foils were very hot and she said she needed to rinse me very quickly, so she removed the hot foils and rinsed with cold water. She proceeded to ask me the same question she asked me before coloring my hair, such as, do you have hard water in your home my reply was no, did you have your hair professionally colored previously? My reply was yes, always. Then she said she was going to do foils in the top half just like she did in the back. She said she has no idea why that happened, but she will watch the other foils more carefully. I asked her if she was leaving the dark hair in between the bright highlights. And she said yes. I told her that’s not at all what I asked for. While I was sitting in the chair still by the shampoo bowl she pulled up a pic on her phone of what it would look and I told her it looked tacky and that is not what I asked for. She then said she would do balayage on the top of my hair. I said if this is going to come out how I asked you then that’s fine. She then placed foils all of my hair on top and sides and she left the back with the bright highlights and very dark brown hair and foiled the whole rest of my sides on top of my hair, which I figured she would go in and fix the rest. She Left the top foils on for about 30 minutes and she said oh these are getting hot too. She then removed them right away. So she removed them with cold water and didn’t tell me right away that my hair was melting off. I have to mention that after the first foils we’re getting hot, she asked me again what products I have in my hair and I said Chi hot tools spray, and a Chi oil. She asked about my previous hair color, which I haven’t had done in a month or six weeks, but it wasn’t bleach at all, it was just professional hair color, as I’ve never used box color. She asked me if I had hard water at home and I said I do not. When I walked in that salon, my hair was healthy And halfway down my back. I just needed my roots done because I had about an inch and a half of white roots that were showing and I had split ends. My hair was half way down to my back and dark brown. When she put me in the chair after rinsing everything out, I noticed that my hair was much shorter and she was using a brush to brush it out and I said what’s happening what is that on the floor and there was orange hair, my hair, on the floor. It was falling off mid shaft. I think most of it must’ve come off in the sink because I didn’t see much of it on the floor, but my hair was Shoulder length. She kept saying I don’t know what you have in your hair, but this is why this happened, so I was being blamed for my hair melting off. I kept trying to hold back tears and didn’t understand what was happening. She started becoming rude because she kept telling me that it was because of me that my hair was falling off. She cut off the parts that were falling off and proceeded to blow dry my brittle, broken off hair with a round brush which didn’t seem to be going through my hair very well and it was pulling so hard. She finally stopped, and I said why isn’t the brush going through and she raised her voice and said, “because your hair is so dry.“ I said my hair was not dry when I walked in here, it is dry now! I asked how much I owe her and she said nothing, never mind and I threw $100 bill on her tray and I left. I was there for 5 hrs. Mistakes happen, and I understand that, what made this egregious was not that she meant to do this it was that she kept finding every reason under the sun that it was my fault that my hair was completely ruined.

Really beautiful suite setup. I went to touch of Glam by Nay. Very professional. On time. Great scheduling app. Paid for phone consultation. . . wish I was able to do an in person consultation prior to services. I was still able to get a silk press on my TWA Virgin hair. It actually lasted a full week. It is the straightest my hair has ever been. Nay was able to clip all of my ends and even my hair out. I would definitely book services in the future for wash and go and 8 to 11 big feed in individual braids. She also has appointments for makeup and nails. Thank you Nay.

She is very thorough in all aspects of the services. The booking process is very smooth and easy through her website. She is very welcoming to her clients with snacks and good vibes always. She never fails to leave you with high satisfaction with any style you choose and with a smile on your face

I’ve been getting my hair done by Nay in suite 104 for about 5 years. This has got one of the best locations she been at so far. The bathroom is always clean and the other suite mates are very friendly. She does my hair and nails and I have never been disappointed. She also does my daughter’s hair. She is extremely thorough with hair care and she has help my daughter’s hair grow thick and long. If you’re looking for someone new I highly recommend her.
