Gentle Dental Eugene

First time getting a filling with Gentle Dentle and they were awesome! I struggle with anesthetic shots for dental work but the dentist listened to my concerns and was incredibly gentle and talked me through each step of what he was doing and I really appreciated that. The hygienist and staff are also very friendly and welcoming and make the experience comfortable.

I came to this office after struggling to get appointments so I could get a braces consult. Then, when I finally got the all clear from the dentist to see the orthodontist, Candace, the "Practice Manager", called me. The dentist had left a note in my chart saying I was looking into a partial but was undecided and I was going to an orthodontist. Candace started off friendly, asking me about the note and why I was seeing an orthodontist, but quickly switched once I explained I was actually going for a braces consult. She said word-for-word, "You know a braces consult won't fix the gap in your teeth, right?" she said this in a really rude tone of voice, then when I was silent she followed by saying, "I mean you are LITERALLY missing so many teeth. I don't even think you'd be a good candidate for braces". (I know I am, I had gotten a previous consult at the office I was going to for a second consult to start the process.) The conversation ended with me not sure if my appointment at the other office was still happening, because she said she was going to talk to the front desk person about it. I do not know why she felt the need to say these things to me, it really insulted me, humiliated me. I do know I'm missing teeth, but I also know braces would help my jaw and I have been told I can get them. That's what the braces are for. I do not think the practice manager should be saying these things to anyone, I think it was really unprofessional. If I hadn't had her treat me this way, I'd probably come back to this office because the rest of the staff were lovely. Unfortunately, I will be going elsewhere.

This was the worst dental experience ive ever had. My hygienist kristan was horrible. She had a chip on her shoulder and tried to seem overly confident. She wad Incredibly rough while doing her evaluation at one point dragging the metal hook across my gums instead of lifting it. The experience was painful and instead of continuing with the procedure I elected to seek a more careful dental practice and left 1/2 way into it. I feel bad for anyone who has to sit through her sloppy and painful sessions. I recommend calling ahead of time to make sure you do not get her.
