While my cleaning and general service at Gentle Dental Corvallis was polite, clean, and pleasant, I was extremely disappointed in the orthodontic side of this business and would caution others to do their research and come prepared to press their questions and advocate for themselves as well as seeking a second opinion elsewhere (usually these consultations are free). Office staff and the team responsible for taking my x-rays and performing my cleaning were exceptional - they were warm, kind, friendly and efficient without feeling rushed. They were thorough and asked questions to help get to the bottom of my needs and help me make the most of the care I received. I was recommended to consult with their orthodontist and did not feel the consultation was particularly caring or focused on me as a person - it felt much more like a car sales conversation than a health care appointment. When I asked questions considering my general health as someone with a chronic illness and compromised immune system, the orthodontist failed to engage with the question. When asked to weigh in on my perspective of the financial investment relative to the health benefits from orthodontic care, especially relevant to infection risks given my condition, again the orthodontist just wanted to talk about straight teeth and failed to engage in a conversation about me as a whole person or address my interests and concerns relative to receiving care. Upon following up with my care team around my chronic illness and getting a second opinion, I was advised not to go forward with treatment the orthodontist had recommended. These sources of second opinions agreed it seemed Gentle Dental's orthodontic team was reaching for sales rather than genuinely treating me as a person. Given that they are one of the few providers in the area that accept OHP/Medicaid, I feel they are ethically out of line and really disappointing in this area - health care professionals have a responsibility, especially to low income patients and those who may not feel empowered to ask questions and advocate for themselves, to do better. Again, staff was kind and the cleaning was a quick and pleasant experience, but I'd encourage patients be aware that you are allowed to ask questions, your questions are valid and deserve to be appropriately considered and thoughtfully responded to by anyone claiming to provide any form of healthcare regardless of your insurance source, and unfortunately, some professionals may be more focused on their bottom line and sales opportunities than on truly supporting your health. Advocate for yourself and take care!

We had a good experience here. The front desk and assistants were always very kind and concerned for my daughter. The dentist was great also, very knowledgeable and informative on details of braces and It was a smooth process getting her into braces and out of them.
