It was a dark and stormy night... Nah, just kidding 🙂. Seriously tho, it was blustery and frigidly cold day, and the bank I had just finished a lengthy appointment with, had no washroom availability, suggesting your Freshco as the nearest facilities. Recovering from a stroke which surprised me a few years ago (because I was, and am still very active), it was a difficult time. I felt thankful as I bought a protein bar there, noting: - the impressive array of products an services; - the cleanliness of the facilities, and the store overall; - the bright atmosphere of the store, including presentation, lighting, layout; - the no-fuss environment, as I made my way around - friendly, professional, and knowledgeable staff at the service desk, in providing directions. This is exactly what the customer experience should be for everyone, everywhere! "5 stars!" Thank you!

I have been a regular customer at this FreshCo for over a year, and I usually prefer shopping here because it’s close to my home in Windfields. However, recently I’ve had a very uncomfortable experience with one of the staff members at the self-checkout area. There is a lady named Juvy who repeatedly comes to check only my items at the self-checkout, even when other customers are around. Every time I scan my groceries, she watches me or comes over to double-check, but she does not do this with other shoppers. This has happened multiple times, and it makes me feel like she thinks I am trying to steal something. I feel targeted and judged, and the behaviour comes across as discriminatory. I always pay for my groceries and have never caused any issue. My friends have also felt the same treatment during our visits. I really hope management looks into this, because this experience is making me uncomfortable coming to a store I have trusted for so long. All customers should be treated with respect and fairness.

I shop at this FreshCo regularly, but I’ve had two uncomfortable experiences at the self-checkout with the same staff member, Juvie. On both occasions she approached me in a rude and accusatory way, asking if I entered the correct code for my produce (first bananas, now mangoes). Even after she saw that the codes were correct, she walked away without an apology. This made me feel singled out and treated with unnecessary suspicion. I understand staff need to verify items, but it should be done politely and consistently with all customers. I hope management can address this so customers feel respected while shopping.

Like many others, I’ve also had unpleasant experiences with the staff. There’s a thin white woman who stocks the vegetables—she’s quite rude. It often feels like they think they’re doing customers a favor by opening the store early. The store is close to home, so it’s convenient when I need to pick something up quickly, but I don’t go there often because the staff can be quite rude.
