Mark KIt took ~15-20 minutes for my server to acknowledge me after I was seated. I was comp’ed a scoop of salmon on a chip. I started the meal with lobster cocktail. Not what I expected. It came out as a chilled half tail split lengthwise, not really a lobster cocktail. The salad was a nice way to segue to the entree, lack of lamb. Good but there a scoop of something underneath that wasn’t explained to me. Finished the meal with a chocolate dessert. The highlight of the meal.

The dishes are always exquisite and offer a different flavor profile each time. I especially enjoyed the selection of non alcoholic drinks on the menu. I highly recommend this restaurant.
David ModlinI’ve eaten here many times, and each time is a slightly different experience (all good). I’ve tried about everything on their menu, and found my personal favorites to be escargot, and duck. Everything I’ve tried is fantastic. Location is also very nice. There are lots of street, and parking lots around, and lots are quite cheap. Never experienced any riffraff, or begging around the restaurant. It’s a walkable distance to all the city sites, and theaters. I highly recommend Meritage to anyone looking for a classy place to eat with amazing French food. The Chef often makes rounds to greet customers, and likes to explain the food, and prep. He’s quite friendly. Staff is also very nice, and attentive. You won’t be disappointed.
MatiasWe had been planning on visiting Meritage for a long time, with it being quite good from what we’ve heard. It certainly did not disappoint. We tried the tasting menu and all of the courses worked really well with the exception of just one. The service was excellent and on par or even better than the service we’ve experienced in quite a few Michelin Starred restaurants. The first 4 courses (in order with pictures, including foie gras ad-on being the fourth) were excellent. The 5th course, being a dish of quail was somewhat lacking compared to the previous excellent courses. The duck à l'orange as the 6th course was a great main course. The main desert was pretty good but again not as excellent as you would expect with the previous courses but the final bites ended the meal on a high note. In conclusion, Meritage is an excellent example of elevated bistro-style French cuisine and might be the best French restaurant in the Twin Cities.
