Talia LapidThis is by far the best fabric store in Mainz. Sonia, the owner, is kind, knowledgeable and EXTREMELY generous with her time! Her store is gorgeous and full of inspiration for people who love to sew. She only has fabric from high-quality and well-known brands, and gives the best advice, tips, and recommendations. I've been going here since I started sewing this summer in May and I keep coming back...several times a month! It makes me sad to see how many people have left negative reviews about friends/family being asked to wait outside. I know from my own experience shopping that I want to browse, I want advice, and I want time. I'm sure that every time I shop at Engelsliebe I spend at least 25 minutes in the shop before I decide what to buy (and I could probably spend all day there, to be honest. The fabric is that beautiful). But, we are in the middle of a pandemic!! Since only three people are allowed in the store at a time, each extra person limits the amount of people who can come in and make a purchase. I know that as shoppers we want to come in with friends and browse and have all the time in the world, but as consumers we have to understand that these are exceptionally hard times for store owners and they are doing their best to make us happy while still running a business. We all need to be a little more understanding. I know this store has heart and soul and I am happy to support it!

Martina H.Ansprechend eingerichtetes Stoffgeschäft mit einer sehr guten Auswahl. Aber... ich habe mich in noch keinem anderen Geschäft so unwillkommen gefühlt wie in diesem. Man kommt sich als Kunde regelrecht idiotisch vor, wenn man die einfachsten Fragen stellt. Die Inhaberin ist unfreundlich und macht eher einen genervten Eindruck, anstatt sich über Kundschaft zu freuen und Spaß daran zu haben, diese zu beraten. Auch e-Mail-Anfragen, die ich mehrfach gestellt hatte, wurden nicht beantwortet. Zum Glück gibt es in einem kleinen Vorort von Mainz eine wirklich schöne, kompetente und herzliche Alternative :-)
