Customer experiences
Best contractors i have ever worked with. Todor, Marco and Dad are so experienced, do 5 star work, arrive every morning by 9 am, have designer ideas. Always a fair price. I could go on and on….
Todor and Boris remodeled our kitchen and bathroom and they did an amazing job on both. Great communication and work ethic. They really care about their projects and I would trust them with any project. Any future home Reno projects we have Todor will be the first person I call. I would recommend them to anyone and I appreciate everything they did to make our kitchen and bathroom look so great!!
We are in love with our new bathroom and are happy with the product Modern Perfection delivered. With that in mind, the process of getting this bathroom has been arduous, time consuming, and frustrating. Communication is the biggest area of concern with Modern Perfection. We, the customer, had to initiate nearly every conversation regarding our project. Given the time and money investment, the level of communication we received was not acceptable. These communication problems led to errors and misunderstandings that created large amounts of stress. We had to be on top of Todor and his team constantly to get the bathroom we wanted. If you want a stress-free, expedited, and customer-friendly bathroom remodel, look elsewhere. If you are fine acting as project manager despite paying thousands, Modern Perfection will deliver a great product for you. Timeline: • Original Estimate Received – 3/20/21 • Demo completed (we did the demo) – 10/24/21 • Plumbing Installed – 10/27/21 • Work begins – 2/28/21 • Work completed – 4/4/22 Damages: • 2-inch hole punched in exterior frame of window • 3 cracks in face of oak vanity • Several large gauges, scratches, and chips in the finish of our hardwood floors • Overhead light was not installed flush with the drywall, per manufacturer spec. This appeared to be fixed upon final inspection. The hood of the light had been double-sided taped to the ceiling, holding just long enough to give the illusion of a proper install. The tape failed and the hood separated from the ceiling, bringing the porcelain shade crashing to the ground. • Exterior bricks around window shorn off at edges. • Various holes, scratches, and chips on door jambs, won’t be covered by the stop molding Communication Problems: • We waited 4 months after the demo of our bathroom before the work fully began. This was due to Todor believing it was our responsibility to order the window for the project. The original quote lists the window as something the contractors would buy. When signing the revised contract (with plumbing cost added), for some reason, Todor had moved the window as an item we had to purchase. In no text, phone conversation, email, or otherwise did we say we would order the window. We got a window we love, but a communication error led to a 5-month long wait that could have been avoided. • After months of delays, Todor’s crew was ready to begin work on the bathroom. The crew was set to begin Wednesday 2/23/2022. I texted Todor the day before asking if the crew was starting tomorrow, no response. I asked again the next day, to which Todor responded that he was no longer in the country. • After works began, Todor did not respond to our correspondence about the project via WhatsApp. When confronted about the lack of communication, we were told we were being unreasonable, and we needed to trust the team to do the work without question. Todor’s crew does not speak English, meaning the questions we had for him could not be answered by the crew. From this point on we decided to stop works until Todor returned to the USA and could do a walkthrough. • Upon walkthrough Todor noticed that his crew had installed the window improperly, not allowing for a lip for the marble surround as we had discussed. They fixed the window, but in doing so punched a hole in the exterior frame of the window we waited over 4-months for. • After completing all work, Todor attempted to increase the cost of the project. This was regarding the install of the bathroom and closet door as well as the install of the tub glass door. These items were communicated to Todor in Nov 2021 and Feb 2021 respectfully. No change regarding the contract was communicated either time. We assumed since Todor did not request an adjustment that the work was covered. Todor had over 5 months to inform us there would be a price change, like he had done with the additional plumbing costs added in November 2021. In the end we did not pay the extra cost but were put off by this practice.
We have been looking for a team of professionals for our first house and took time with it. For us it was very important to have someone to be responsive and be able to make our dream kitchen and the rest of the house project come true not only in timely manner , but also for it to be done professionally! Todor was on top of every little detail and did his job absolutely wonderful. While Covid19, him and his team were always wearing masks and gloves and were working on a project at a time, making us feel save. I can continue for hours.. just take a look at the pictures, they sreak for themselves ! We highly recommend Modern Perfection
