SHIPPERS/RECEIVERS BEWARE: Dayton is ever growing with how petty they can be. They showed up a day late then they charged us hundreds of dollars for 28 minutes of detention and they even called it 30 minutes so they could charge the full amount for two 15 minutes increments. Their rule is you must unload in 15 minutes or less, with check in time and staging, that's the majority of 15 minutes. I guess they expect all carriers to move out of the way for them so they can dock immediately when they arrive, but that's not how life works. All while they show up late constantly. Hypocrisy is strong within Dayton Freight and you as a shipping customer can do better by going elsewhere.

I've had 2 different deliveries over the years, the second being yesterday. Both of my experiences have been great. Good communication from the dispatchers, and from the drivers ahead of delivery. Awesome experience all the way around.

they are horrible, wanted to schedule a delivery time to receive important item, great no problem, but could not say if they would be on time, expected me to wait all day,,,,why schedule the time them, i asked them to drop it no signature, before i could blink they sent the product back no refund on item from company plus addtional charges, what a scam. go somewhere else, or hire a mule

They keep putting packages in semi and then not delivering. But the worst part is they don’t say anything to anyone or care. Then they said they would put in box truck and have it delivered same day but they didn’t do that so that was a lie. Terrible service across the board. Has happened multiple times and now it’s Saturday and we let our customer down all because Dayton freight. Thanks Dayton frieght, hope we don’t lose customers and business because of you….
