I have never told this place that I am an Iraq war and Afghanistan Veteran. I have spent a fortune here however, there is a young, balding, "vet" guy with glasses who works here, who any time I deal with him is pretty rude, cold, and odd. If I want 500 rounds of a specific type of ammo when I've been coming here for 5 years, why would you literally try to talk me out of a sale and use it as an opportunity to tell me about your brief, non combat service... If I want a specific type of ammo he uses it as an opportunity to tell me that he is a "veteran" and that only he could get the "real thing" so "Im wasting my money"... If I specifically ASK for 5.56 I want 5.56 (NOT 223)... and If I want "green tips" and am about to spend 2K in the shop, don't try to sell me .223 when I told you I dont want 223...and yes there is a difference... (but according to him, the "vet" there is none... Maybe listen to your customer and I would spend more here. I can get 1K rounds for 200$ cheaper than here but I still prefer to buy local, and the whole shopping experience is what makes this place great. However, this buzz cut, glass wearing dude trying to use his "veteran" card against other veterans (he just didnt realize who he was talking to) is a little nuts and Im sure this place knows exactly who Im referring to...
As a US combat veteran who moved to Canada years ago, I really appreciate this store. The negative: There is a young guy here who any time you deal with him, tells you that he is active duty and is a bit weird and reluctant to help. When I purchase something or ammunition he gives this really weird look and so I choose not to deal with him. The only time I did deal with him I asked for specific type of ammunition, he handed me something different, and after I told him that is not what I want... He said, "you can't get what I get because I'm military" ... EVEN though the exact ammunition I wanted was right there... So again I had to tell him what I wanted and finally someone else helped me and I got the ammunition I asked for... I dont understand why he works here. He has no idea that I am a combat veteran who is still training active duty soldiers.
Went there for a duffel bag and walked out with a bunch of stuff! The staff is friendly and helpful Everything I saw was fairly priced. My only regret is that I didn’t shop there at the first place.
I’ve been shopping here on and off for years don’t know how long. After my last time in I won’t be back. I don’t have a problem with the staff I dealt with not knowing the tool I wanted. I don’t have a problem with them not stocking the tool. I do have a problem with derision and being ridiculed. Was trying to shop local. Instead drove 12 minutes and got exactly what I needed. As above, that was my last time through their doors.
