We had a wonderful stay at the Howard Johnson by Wyndham in the historical district of Lake Charles, La. The owners went above and beyond to make our stay incredibly memorable. The staff were friendly and helpful. They made sure to provided excellent care of all of our needs. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, with a view that over looked the pool. The pool area gave a relaxing atmosphere were enjoyed unwinding. It was an unforgettable hotel experience.

I don't know why some have left a bad review about this hotel. For the price especially, you cannot beat it! The receptionist was extremely nice. They have a pool it was very clean. The room was very spacious with a desk and a little table. Overall experience was one of the best I have had, literally. Yes it might be small and it may not be a five-star hotel but it was definitely five stars in my opinion. I travel for work and I stay in at least one or two Airbnb/h otels a week. Friendliness, cleanliness, and attention to detail go quite a long ways! You cannot be a nice comfortable quiet place to sleep, especially at this price!!

Desk clerk was exceptional, friendly and helpful. She bent backwards to help me with everything I needed. Loved the room, it was clean, and we could smoke in it, so if you’re a smoker, you know that when at a hotel you have to go outside to smoke. Loved the pool area, it was kept clean, and the water was clear blue. We will be going back there again.

First off, The owner was really rude to me and my 6 yr old son!! 😤 Secondly~ At NO TIME WAS I TOLD ABOUT THE $50. DEPOSIT.. SO NOW After I was told I couldn't pay my room in cash. I had to go Into the hot sun with my six year old. And call my mom and try to see if she would put it on her Debit card. Thank god she did cause my son and I would have had no place to sleep that night or any night for that matter. Well long story short, I asked for my deposit back and they said that it goes on the CARD that the room was registered under. So I figured he remembered taking my cash, So It wouldn't be a problem for him to put it on my mom's card.Which is the cord?I used to purchase the room. Which would be no problem?Because I would get the fifty from my mother!! Well , he says it now That his wife gave it to me and his wife is saying that he gave it to me which no one gave it to me.And it's not on my mother's card.It was cash!!!! Along with every time after his wife left he came to my room. Except the last night I was there because my mother was there!!! And I. Know that's the only reason he didn't!!! Came to my room every night.Except the last night I was there. One time he was sloppy drunk and and he inappropriately touched my body with my six-year-old son right there.Trying to come in my room.I would never recommend this place to no one especially a single mom That is traveling don't go there. Also It looks nice when you get there kind of, But at night it's full of workers from All over who are drinking in the parking lot and doing Laura knows what cause I'm seeing a drug deal myself.I'll write not recommend this place to anyone.And the people are very rude and the man is very inappropriate.
