I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt it was necessary after my experience with Corona Homes Team eXp Realty. From the very beginning, something just didn’t feel right. It’s extremely hard to get in contact with anyone calls go unanswered, and when you finally reach someone, the communication feels very unclear and they talk extremely fast. They advertise rental properties, but the process they use doesn’t make sense for standard rentals. I was asked to provide W2s, tax returns, 30 days of check stubs, and even bank statements all just to apply for a rental property. Those are documents you typically provide when applying for a mortgage, not when trying to rent an apartment or home. 🤨 When I asked why all of those personal financial documents were required for a rental application, nobody could give me a straight answer. The explanations I received were vague and didn’t justify why such sensitive information was needed if I was only renting and not buying. It really made me question what exactly they’re using that information for and whether this is a legitimate rental process or something else entirely. You also can’t view any of the units until you physically come into the office, which feels unusual. Someone even warned me not to go there because they thought it seemed like a scam but I wanted to see for myself. After reading through several other negative reviews and experiencing the same lack of clarity, I can honestly say those reviews were accurate. If you’re genuinely looking to rent, I would strongly recommend being very cautious with this company. Before handing over any personal or financial information, make sure you understand why it’s being requested and how it will be used. Something about their process just doesn’t sit right, and in my opinion, renters deserve transparency and honesty neither of which I experienced here.
