I have worked for a few Trucking Companies through the years, and from my experience, Cooley Transport has hands down been the best. Key Factors: Most companies governor their trucks at 65mph which can cause safety issues on the road due to higher speed limits on interstates because it puts drivers feeling rushed since it adds time to their clock by the end of the day. In an 11-hour work day at 65mph, when the speed limit is 70mph, it adds about 5 mins every hour to your clock. So that alone can add about 46 mins to your 11hr work day which can cause a driver to feel rushed and stressed by also feeling that he/she has less home time due to having to leave earlier. That's not including the unexpected road and traffic conditions during that 11-hour shift. 46 mins can be the difference between a driver having to leave a whole day early just to make a trip you're scheduled to do and getting to spend time at home. So, at Cooley Transport, they have their trucks set at 70mph, which helps tremendously. It puts you more at ease on the road and more time at home, all while getting the miles you want. They have several different driving opportunities to choose from. You can do OTR, Owner Operator, and Local. They also have what they call a Gibson route, which is more like a dedicated type of schedule but home every day. OTR drivers are home every weekend, but if you decide that OTR is not for you, they will allow you to move and try the Gibson route if you want, and also, vice versa. They also give a $2000 sign on bonus with many other bonus opportunities based on your performance and also driver referral bonus. The company runs ELD through Samsara. If you have any issues with your logs, the Safety Director is fast and great about helping in any way to assist you with any problems, no matter the time of day or night. Cooley Transport has their own mechanic shop with very knowledgeable mechanics that work fast. They also have their very own fuel island so you can fuel up at anytime your on the yard to save you tons of time. They provide very well maintained and new trucks. They also have great competitive pay for drivers. The personnel manager and dispatch are all excellent at their jobs and will help you in any way possible. The owners, Jeff and Tammy Cooley, consider you as family and treat you that way. Drivers suck... can't park in between lines... can't act like a responsible professional driver even though he is a trainer & training... g.o.a.l means get out and look... but instead after another truck almost backed into him they blew the horn... I got out to go to the other driver to tell him the problem... the trainer gets out & goes to screaming & cussing even though everything results back to the point they can't park between lines... after redirecting the guys attention he had the audacity to then start screaming & cussing me out... well congratulations to showing people how idiotic he can be... but me I have no problem shaming yaa on here
