Customer experiences
Communication at first has been a hit and miss. Wasn’t to clear on how the utilities worked to start with and found that they said at first they covered the water and sewer then was told we had to. Never finished the list of deficiencies before moving in. Did everything I could to leave the place in as good as I moved in… and as seen in my pics, they wrote down the top surface of the stove as the only thing. Lost 450$ of my damage deposit over this. Not happy with overall dealings with this company. I truly don’t ever feel like I’d write a review like this, however I spent as much as the $450 to ensure that I left it in a manner to allow the next people to just move in. And that being said, they had rented it out right away before the move out date.
Extremely Frustrating Experience with Continental Realty & Management I moved into a unit managed by Continental Realty and within a couple of weeks, the place flooded—multiple times. The flooding led to mold and other issues that made it unsafe to live in. I haven’t been able to stay in the unit since. Since then, trying to get help has been a nightmare. I’ve called, emailed, and spoken directly with the acting landlord and property manager, and I’ve had to repeat myself over and over. Every time I asked about ending the lease due to the condition of the unit, I was met with vague answers and empty promises. It felt like they were just trying to stall or avoid taking responsibility. I’ve called their main office, and they don’t answer. They don’t return calls. Emails go unanswered. I was told I’d receive a credit for the time I couldn’t use the apartment, but that never happened either. Now I’m paying for a place I can’t live in, and I’ve had to find a new place at my own cost. On top of that, I’ve had to open a case through the Residential Tenancy Dispute Resolution Service just to try to get this resolved. This has been one of the worst rental experiences I’ve ever had. I wouldn’t recommend renting through Continental Realty to anyone. ** response to the comment posted below.. I initially reported the flooding on Wednesday and nobody was dispatched until the Friday when I reported the second flood incident.. that's alot more than 4 hours. Since then my unit has flooded a third time which shows a complete lack of care for my belongings and time. Your contractor recommended no less than removing the bottom 2ft of drywall and tearing up the entire floor to prevent mold - something you flat out refused to do. Now I'll also attach the photos of mold growing on the bottom foot of drywall due to your continual neglect and improper remediation. And why is this the way i find out there will be no move out penalty when I have been repeatedly asking for the last 1.5 weeks?
Would have given this company a 2 maybe 3 but Garfield turned it all around. They weren't the most responsive or responsible but since a Garfield took over, amazing response time, understanding and friendly customer service. Thank you, Garfield!!!!!
