Customer experiences
Go anywhere else if you're hurt, went twice today for a traumatic injury and was given a sling but told to simply tough it out. Myra A Richard treats her patients horribly. I've never left a hospital worse than when I came in. She made sure I did so I will be looking in to what I can do legally. It's the only option in town so they can get away with whatever and write whatever they want to in your file. I heard her openly call a patient a cuss word while I was in a closed room. Badmouthing her patients is not a good look. While no video recording happened, I recorded everything via audio and will use it against her. This hospital is an absolute joke. No wonder the ratings are so low.
Family member broker her wrist at a local lake. Being from out of town took a chance. So glad We did. Great staff and doctors. Thanks to you all
**Edit January 15, 25 Had to meet someone for an emergency. Hours there and I came out of the ER room for a break to... Nothing! No coffee area, no vending!? Asked, if the cafeteria was still open as it was 6pm and the admitting lady Kristy shoot her head no and said, "they close at 2!" I said 2pm!? She said yes. I asked, "what to you and people do for supper"? She just shrugged her shoulders!? I then asked if the vending was still down by the cafeteria. She didn't know so I walked down there and got a pop and the healthiest snack I could. 95% was just junk!? I mean in a hospital!? There should be at minimum a sandwich machine. For workers, visitors etc. Caring for staff should be a priority and visitors as they help and calm patients for hours on end!! Terrible there is absolutely nothing!! County Hospital With no ICU or Mental Health. For both the patients are transferred. Also, no Sono tech on duty in the ER after regular business hours. You have to wait for one or go to Topeka or KC. The cafeteria allows those waiting on a patient to use the cafeteria however, I was told by an employee you can't just come in only to eat. This picture is their, "scrambled cheesy eggs" Both eggs and bacon were cold. Most steam tables you can see the steam rising, here you couldn't. Regular shredded cheddar was added to the eggs and even tho the lid was closed right away 10 mins later it still was not melted. Most the staff are friendly.
One of the best ER's I've been to, never have to wait. Myra oversees ER, is excellent. Stayed over night in hospital, nursing staff, spot on, gave excellent care, the daisy award would have to be split between all of them, including my traveling nurse. My doctor, Dr. Sloyer, is one if the best.
Coffey County Hospital is a hospital.
