Customer experiences
I was having some issues with logging in and had to visit a branch to get access to my account. Wilson helped me navigate this process today and I was pleasantly surprised by his kindness and professionalism. Just wanted to mention it as I'm finding it more rare to receive genuine and kind service in general and wanted to give a shout out to Wilson for taking the time to solve this issue.

to start with I want people to know this about me: I deal with banks around the world. I deal with credit unions as well in BC. So I am VERY knowledgeable in banking systems. I do NOT make negative comments lightly. I try to find reasons to like an institution and the people within it, but when all I see is ignorance, I call them out on it. I do not need to name people. This is in part a complaint/observation about how poorly our companies are run now. NO ONE is willing to be accountable to make a decision that makes common sense. The following is my observation about Coast Capital, and in particular this branch at Davie St. Vancouver.... but I assume it transfers to all their branches. Coast Capital is almost the worst (only beaten out by RBC). They make up 'rules' and 'requirements' to delay transactions. Not one person will make a decision without working it up the chain of command to see it if makes sense. Had to do some work as executor of my mothers estate. They over complicated everything and added things that are not needed. My lawyer was astonished. He has done this for over 20 years and NEVER, not once, did he have to create any of the forms they requested and said they needed. I sincerely hope that they, at some time in the near future, have to deal with themselves on sorting out an estate. THEN they will (maybe) begin to understand the stupidity of their 'systems'. I would recommend NEVER dealing with this 'bank' at any branch. NOT if you want things done correctly with people that know what they are doing. The ONLY positive thing I can say is that the person we dealt with at least had the courtesy to be on time for our appointment. Many banks (RBC) do not even manage that. As a last note, They do not understand normal phone call courtesy. Identify YOURSELF prior to asking to speak with me. For security/privacy reasons I can allow that a person may not wish to divulge what institution they are with, (bank, doctor etc) BUT at least say this is ... first name... calling for ....my name.... is he/she available? DO NOT just say is so and so there....I do NOT know you so why anyone would think I would say yes or no? Get some manners! YES, I am VERY crotchety because it seems I am not allowed to say anything that may offend someone else. Guess what? The way they handled things, the way they called on the phone, THAT offended me! Get some manners. Get some sense about what you are doing.
