Customer experiences
Servers were great, very pleasant & accommodating! Large menu with a wide variety of options. Food was average for pub food! Shepards Pie was good, wings were okay, soup of the day was tasty but a little watered down, battered mushrooms were not good but mozzarella sticks were fine! Lots of comfortable seating!
This is our second time at castle johns in 1 week! We don’t go out for dinner often, but my husband and I are extremely happy with the food !! Portions are big, and the food just taste overall amazing. The staff is wonderful and super friendly. We have found our new favourite restaurant in Lindsay !
I felt for something different so I was looking at the menu of Castle John Lindsay to find something I haven't tried before and settled on the Buffalo Chicken Caesar Wrap, Greek Salad and the Peanut Butter Fudge Brownie. I thought for sure based on the reviews that I would love it but I didn't. I really didn't taste much of the chicken flavour. Don't get me wrong the presentation of the food was good but, my wrap this day was not good. I enjoyed the fries and the Greek Salad was good. After what I could eat I thought I would love the Peanut Butter Fudge Brownie but, all I saw was a lot of chocolate syrup and hardly tasted the Peanut Butter. I was disappointed. The review on the wrap inspired me to order it but I regretted. Castle John has some good items on the menu but, I guess my taste buds are different then previous orders. I do order from time to time but, it will be time for sure. Included pictures
We've been visiting this restaurant regularly over the past five years during our summer stays at the cottage, often bringing friends along. Unfortunately, today's Thanksgiving Monday lunch was a major disappointment – by far the lowest point we’ve experienced here. We ordered the turkey dinner, expecting a festive meal, but what we received felt more like leftovers than a proper holiday dish. The turkey came in ripped pieces rather than being properly carved, and it looked unappetizing. A small scoop of cabbage was served with cranberry sauce on top, which didn’t help the presentation or flavor. Even worse, they didn’t have turkey gravy and instead brought beef gravy, which didn’t match the dish at all. The stuffing, which was clearly listed as part of the meal on the menu, was missing. When we asked, the waitress – who seemed genuinely embarrassed – told us they simply didn’t have it. The only redeeming part of the plate was the vegetables, which looked fresh and were edible. Sadly, this experience has completely changed how we view this restaurant. What was once a reliable and enjoyable place to dine has clearly lost its standard. We won’t be coming back.
