Hi everyone! I love Spanish food so I’m glad we have this place here in Bellevue. The food we had was great, specially the croquetas! Our server was really friendly and took good care of us. However, we were waiting in the entrance to be seated for a while until a server finished her conversation with a group and helped us. I enjoyed the music they were playing, a good selection of songs in Spanish.

Overall, this place is most appropriate for a casual spot to catch-up with friends and experience tasting a diverse set of menu options. Most menu choices rank right in the middle - they’re mostly average quality without any being rated as terrible or super high quality. One perk of this spot is that it’s entertaining to come here with a larger group and try a variety of “tapas” style menu items. However, it’s not a spot to come for authentic or high quality tapas items.

Castilla offers a nice spot for food, drinks and dessert right at the centre of Bellevue square. I tried the spirit-free ginger beer, which was refreshing, and the vanilla cake, which was delightful. The food was generally good—the vegetarian options were flavorful, and the calamari tapas were tender and tasty. However, as someone not familiar with Spanish cuisine, I didn’t enjoy a few items, like the squid ink dish, which might appeal more to those with a taste for authentic Spanish flavors. Overall, a good experience for drinks, desserts, and some dishes, but be prepared for traditional Spanish flavors that might not suit everyone.

Casual restaurant that offers a wide selection of small dishes in addition to entrees. Perfect to bring a group of friends and share many different bites while catching up and getting a drink. Their croquettes and empanadas are crowd pleasers and we get them every time we come here. Beef medallions were so so, probably won't get again. Garlic shrimp, Brussel sprouts, and especially the lamb chops are the best in our opinion. The chops are pretty lean and does not taste gamey at all. The potato that comes with lamb chop was soooo good, and the dish is probably the best value on the whole menu. Don't miss it if you like lamb. We have tried their paella before. It wasn't bad. But since we had gotten the best paella at Barcelona, it was hard to measure up. Most restaurants tend to overcook their seafood in the paella, and Castilla doesn't do that. But the real thing in Spain set a very high bar.
