I appreciate that for my son’s appt that I was shown the cavities on the screen and she asked if I wanted to see the X-rays. I appreciate that she was respectful to me. My son is 17 and my experience in the past with doctors and dentists and schools when my kids were young was that parents were not welcomed in the room with their children even at a young age and this has always bothered me and created more anxiety for me. Now my kids are older but I would have appreciated being welcomed into the room with them. I think it is not helpful for parents, children or professionals to exclude parents. I am happy when professionals include the parents and explain things in a private, respectful way with the clients and their children.

Dr Arora is the first dentist in over 50 years that I willingly go to. She is so gentle, kind, and pleasant to be around. She genuinely cares about her patients, even to the point of calling to make sure things are ok when something didn't quite go as planned during the procedure.

The actual dentist is very nice and thorough, but the cleanings I’ve received from the hygienists here have been inconsistent. Twice, hygienists couldn’t complete my cleaning in one appointment due to inflammation. While I don’t necessarily want to immediately doubt the truth of this, this has never been an issue at any other dentists I’ve been to, and I’ve gone regularly for my whole life. Joy is excellent and takes good care to get under the gum line, but the last hygienist I had (someone else, I don’t recall her name) stated she couldn’t get under my gum line and proceeded to educate me on the consequences of not regularly cleaning out plaque and bacteria (heart disease, etc.), which I fully respect and appreciate, but the lesson felt a bit passive aggressive given this was my second time back to finish the cleaning from the first appointment where it couldn’t be completed. It’s not as though I’m not committed to my own oral hygiene. I went to another dentist’s office, and they were able to do a full cleaning without issue. I’m just not sure about the approach to cleanings at this office.

Went for a check up appointment before having some work done and they were phenomenal. They were kind to me even when I was anxious, they took the time to walk through things with me in a way I would better cope and understand and they were open to all questions and concerns !
