The wait was very long but the experience was worth it. Dining room is beautiful with great views of the boats in the marina. Our sever Ashley S was wonderful. Food was good, but not the best seafood I’ve had in the area in the area. Complimentary bread was very delicious- hard coat on the outside and soft on the inside. Calamari was good, not too crispy. Grouper imperial was tasty, as well as the jumbo shrimp. I enjoyed our experience!
We had dinner at Captain Anderson’s on a Thursday night and overall had a pleasant experience. We ordered the seared scallops and the stuffed grouper, both solid choices. We also opted for the upcharge wedge salads, a loaded baked potato, and cheese grits. The food was of good quality—enjoyable, though not particularly memorable. The restaurant itself is very much what you’d expect from a fine dining spot in a beach town. It’s clear why they’ve been in business so long: the staff was prompt, efficient, and friendly. Even in peak season, we waited less than 10 minutes for a table for two, which we appreciated. That said, the dining room was uncomfortably warm. By the end of the meal, I was sweating—it felt about 3–4 degrees too hot for the number of people inside. For a long-standing restaurant, that seemed like a surprising oversight. Would I recommend it? Yes. I’d include it on a list of Panama City Beach spots worth trying. Would I go back? Maybe, but I’d likely explore other options first. Still, it’s a solid choice for a classic, upscale coastal. Special Shoutout to our server, Jamison, for being so knowledgeable and engaging.
Went to Panama City and ate here one night as recommended. You order any drink (alcoholic or non) and you get a glass to take home! Love That!! The food was very good! Ordered several appetizers and they were all tasty! The main entrees were satisfying also. We ordered salmon, scallops, calamari, steamed shrimp and no complaints!! We would go back and try something different! Our server was also on point. My husband always asks if sweet potato pie is on the menu and mostly gets no. Our server had never heard of such (🫢😳). He was from Spain or South America, so no worries!! He was still a great server! Definitely recommend! When in Panana City, FL check out Capt. Anderson's!!!
