Customer experiences
I recently visited this store to return a suit that didn’t fit well. Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. I spoke with the store manager, who, to my surprise, struggled to communicate in English and displayed an unprofessional attitude. I truly wonder how someone can manage a store in Canada without being able to communicate effectively in English. What was even more upsetting was his rude behavior. He repeatedly told me that I had worn the suit, even though I explained that I only tried it on at home. He also insisted that I should have tried it in the fitting room not at home, which he claimed was “policy" something I have never heard of before in any Zara store. I have shopped with Zara in Spain and France, where the service has always been outstanding, friendly, respectful, and professional. Sadly, this Canadian experience was the complete opposite. I decided to keep the suit, but I’ve also decided not to shop at Zara in Canada again. My message to Zara is simple: please ensure that your stores are managed by qualified, customer-oriented professionals. If employees are new to the country, please provide them with English training and guidance on Canadian customer-service standards and culture.
I would like to mention how amazing ususally my shopping experience is at this location but today a girl named Hannah served me.. she was absolutely rude and not professional at all. As I was purchasing I tried to avoid her being my cashier because I've seen how she walks around the store some times in the past when I'm shopping. She is lazy and mean. Today she questioned me for certain things and it was not polite or any of her business. She was basically telling me how to pay and that I didn't need to have a printed copy receipt. I explained everyone has a certain way they like to shop but she kept going on and on trying to make a point to me. Even when I asked for her name she asked me why? I said well I don't appreciate how you've been speaking to me. And she said oh ya how am I speaking with you? I just walked away after paying saying it's okay to her. I think the store manager need to sit her down or let her go immediately!
Extremely upset with the manager and security. Today, August 6 2025 I was stopped at the store door with my family. Lots of people were looking at us. Security asked to check my bags and receipt, no issue. They checked all items and said that one fragrance had a different bar code and asked me if I paid for it. Yes, they asked that. The manager came and asked if the cashier had typed the code by hand. I explained that I was not supervising her job (right???). The security asked to see the receipt again and grabbed my phone. I asked the manager if the security was allowed to touch/grab my phone. The manager asked him to return it. They scanned the item again, and again and again. I got very upset and said that the situation was unbelievable messed up. Like about 15 min they were convinced that I did not stole anything and said all was good. Please do better Zara. Train better your employees.
I had an awful experience at this Zara store. I bought a piece of jewelry, and the box was already slightly torn when I purchased it. When I tried to return it without even using it, they rudely refused to accept the return. Their excuse? They said, “Yes, the seal is intact, but the side of the box is damaged, so we can’t resell it.” The shocking part? The exact same jewelry, in torn boxes, was still on display for sale in the store! When I showed this to the manager, he turned red and angrily told me I wasn’t allowed to take photos of their products. Why are they trying to hide the fact that they knowingly sell damaged items to customers? The staff was extremely rude and unprofessional, and their customer service was horrible. Instead of addressing the issue honestly, they tried to cover it up. I won’t be shopping here again. Avoid this store if you expect any level of honesty or respect!
