My little boy is 6, he has ASD with a PDA profile, he is struggling at school with reading, writing etc so school said he needed to have his eyes checked. Thankfully Faye is an ophthalmologist so Lewis had an eye test along with a thorough check of the health of his eyes. Lewis can struggle with new people but Faye won him round straight away and Bertie was the icing on the cake. Lewis was comfortable and confident with Faye and he did everything she asked, which was amazing. We had two visits in space of two days and both times Faye had Lewis on side. On the second visit Lewis had just had a meltdown before we arrived and Faye got Lewis on side and he did everything that she asked him. This is the place to take your children to have eyes checked and if your child has additional needs then this team has it covered. It’s a local business that employees local people please support.

I have been using Campbell and McDearmid opticians since 2019 and have been fortunate enough to have Faye as my optician. The service is amazing and extremely thorough and nothing is left unturned. The professional service is second to none and Faye is an exceptional optician who explains clearly what is going on. All the staff are so pleasant and it truly is a pleasure to visit for appointments as nothing is ever a problem and they are so accommodating. My eye sight has dramatically improved with Faye’s expertise around contact lenses and is always striving to make adjustments to improve it further. I was recommended Campbell and McDearmid from a colleague and i am so glad they did having previously had a terrible experience with a larger branded company. I cannot recommend these guys enough for first class eye treatment and customer care. I will be forever grateful for the service and help you have given me and my family. Thank you!!!

My daughter has a diagnosis of dyslexia. We were advised to see a specialist around her eyesight and I can say is that I am so glad we went to Faye at Campbell and McDearmid. From the first telephone call, Faye and the team were amazing, giving me, a mum who had no clue what tests needed to be completed, easy to understand information and reassurances. When we go into the practice everybody is just so welcoming and kind; engaging with my daughter with humour and kindness they remember everything she told them at her last visit which means she feels relaxed and happy for her appointments. Faye is incredibly knowledgeable and whilst the tests are being completed she engages so well that my daughter is always giggling and chatting. My daughter now has some lovely glasses which she is comfortable wearing, most importantly her confidence in her ability has increased as well as her reading and writing improving.  She is less tired and is no longer experiencing the same level of visual stress that was having a huge impact on her previously. I would recommend Faye and the team Campbell and McDearmid to anyone and I we so thankful for their support.

My daughter received 1st class service from Faye at Campbell & McDearmid. She is 7 years old and was put completely at ease - Faye described what they were doing and developed a lovely rapport with her. I had taken my daughter to a previous NHS eye test at chain branded store who told me everything was fine. When Faye undertook further tests, my daughter had been seeing everything blurry and needed glasses for reading and screen time. The glasses has made such a difference to my daughters school work and I am really grateful for the time Faye took to go through multiple checks and follow ups to see how she is getting on. I couldn't recommend her highly enough.
