Best experience I've had a with a mover. Moved us from Calgary to Halifax. Everything came out of the truck in perfect condition. Movers were respectful and they did the whole trip on a timely manner. Would definitely use these guys again!

We hired good ol boys for a move from Ontario to Alberta. Oh boy, what a stressful move that was. Good ol’ boys are not the ones moving, they will subcontract you to another company. They put our stuff on the truck that was unloaded and then reloaded on the trailer that actually went to Alberta. I’m not gonna get into details as to how many things were damaged during the move let alone “lost”. We had to throw the entire couch because it came in pieces, screws missing, springs damaged. It took two months after the initial delivery to get our TV because it “did not fit on the first trailer”!!!!! I think it was only returned to us because we were calling non stop. They also initially did not deliver an expensive bicycle that also did not “fit on the truck”. I had a melt down on the phone with them and then finally got it back. DO NOT HIRE THEM!!! The move is already stressful and they will only make it more stressful for you.

We chose Good Ol Boys moving company for our big move from Ontario to Alberta and could not have been happier with the service we received. Jesse was a down to earth person, I never felt pressured and he was open about costs. I had heard horror stories about spiralling costs and prepared myself for the worst. Jesse was communicative throughout, always answered my texts and was easy to deal with. On the day the crew were late and it did cause a few inconveniences for us but honestly they were such a great crew and it was clear to see that they took care with our belongings, wrapped everything properly and likely why they are not as punctual as one would like them to be. They were friendly and professional. On the other end we waited and received great news, the weigh-in was actually under the estimate and so the costs were going to be less than we had been quoted for. After an expensive move, this was welcome news! The truck took 15 days to arrive, within our quoted time and the crew from their sister company Collins-Mehling handled the delivery. Such a good group of guys and were professional, polite and fun. Our belongings arrived safely and there have been no casualties that we can see thus far!

In 2020 they gave us 10% off to review before the move. Red Flag. If they would like I can go in to much more detail or just take the 1 star. I did speak with Nicole after to explain the issues and she apologized. I was not seeking anything in return. Short answer, 1 bedroom move went hours over time (extra paid) and I had to help load the truck while one fella smoked and ate a slim Jim. I didn’t cheap out and paid for exactly how much time they recommended. It still wasn’t enough. Last move was chairs into the basement which caused a decent amount of damage to my walls. I had to return the following day to my apartment and solo move about 4 hours. I still tipped fairly. I just hope they are doing better. Edited review from the aforementioned 5 star 10% discount.
