Robert is truly exceptional! I can't praise his ability to transform an unruly dog into a well-behaved companion enough. His gentle temperament and positive approach make a significant difference. He took a neglected rescue dog—one that several other trainers suggested I should euthanize—and turned her into an obedient, well-mannered dog who listens and shows patience, giving her a second chance at a fulfilling life. Working with Robert has been life-changing. I have 2 amazing Australian Shepherds, but after a series of unfortunate events, they became difficult to manage, and I needed help. I contacted 5 other facilities, and only 2 of them (including California Dog Training) used positive reinforcement training. I chose this facility over the others based on experience, customer service, and training protocol. I’m glad I took the time to research the right facility for my dogs because this experience exceeded my expectations. Our experience with Robert was great. Robert is a dog whisperer and we could see how much he loves and cares for dogs. The receptionist Kim was very nice and communicated with us very well throughout the process. It was a very hard decision to leave our 13 months old Labrador puppy for as long as 5 weeks, but we now know it was a right decision. Though he was such a sweet & friendly pup to begin with, he was also a very strong 85 lb puppy who were hyper and rambunctious with some anxiety issues that needed to be trained for himself and us to live safely and peacefully. Robert explained to us why it would take 5 weeks...he only uses positive reinforcement and would take first 2 weeks to build trust with Prince as he started training him. That made sense to us as most of the other places we contacted and offered us 2-3 weeks training were using choke collar. Once he was trained by Robert, Prince has become such a nice family dog...much calmer and less anxiety with the same loving, fun personality. He's calmed down so much so that our older cat can now be around him too. Robert also trained us to continue with Prince's training at home. This was also a big help. List of the things Prince got from training with Robert: 1) Heel walking 2) Down & stay for 30 mins or longer 3) Solid response to "leave it" & "drop it" command. 4) Much better with "recall" 5) He no longer begs for food when humans are eating 6) He is crate trained 7) He can sleep by himself at night We are really happy with the result and recommend Robert to anyone who is looking to provide a good proper training to their dogs.

This is the 2nd time we have used CA Dog Training. First time 10 years ago - and our dog retained all of his training over the years. Now, we have a 4 month old GS puppy and have also had him trained by Robert and staff. You can't go wrong with CA Dog Training! They love your dog as their own and train him exactly as discussed during the intake meeting. Our puppy is now on his way to becoming our next service dog. Thank you Robert, Kim and team! Well worth the 5 hour drive to have our Raider trained properly. Highly recommended.
