We had a bat in our house and, as a precaution, I called our vet to have my cat vaccinated. They were booked up for days and recommended I try an emergency clinic. I came across West London Pet Hospital and made an appointment. Dr. Robertson was so kind along with the woman who greeted me upon arrival. I was expecting to just be in and out with few words. Instead, Dr. Robertson asked how my partner was since he (my partner) had to get eight rabbies shots himself. He informed me that he's been there too and also told me that he grew up on a farm and that they had bats in the house quite often. I appreciated the story and how it was told with such humor. Maybe I should get a tennis racket to keep any future bats away! My cat Buddy received her shot and he then listened to her heart. He alerted me to a heart murmur and arrhythmia. Learning this, I've made an appointment with our regular vet to have this looked at further and treated if needed. Thank you Dr. Robertson and team! Your compassionate care is truly appreciated!
We have been using West London Pet Hospital for 15 or more years. Vets have come and gone, some better than others. But Dr. Robertson is wonderful. Takes the time to chat with you about your pet. Prices have gone up but what hasn't, to be honest. They are very good at getting medications for our pets with quick turn around.
This is the worst veterinary service I’ve ever experienced with any of my dogs. A month and a half ago, I went there with my Bulldog because of a skin problem. They prescribed medicated baths, a cream, a change of food, and an antibiotic. A diagnosis they gave without any blood tests or any type of exam beyond what they saw with a sample taken using a dirty piece of tape. My question was direct: “Aren’t you going to run a blood test or something similar to know exactly what’s going on?” The answer was just as direct: “If this doesn’t work, come back and we’ll do the test.” And now I understand… there are places where overcharging is more important than actually providing good service and healing animals. We decided to trust them, and after two weeks my dog seemed stable but with little improvement. Once the antibiotic treatment ended, not only did he not get better, but he got worse. So we decided to return, looking for answers as to why the treatment didn’t work. After nearly 45 minutes waiting inside a consultation room, I simply gave up and decided to look for another professional… or maybe it’s better to say, to look for a real professional. Poor diagnosis, poor care, and without a doubt, terrible follow-up on cases.
I had the best experience here today. Dr. Robertson was amazing. He answered all my questions thoroughly (there were many questions). By the end of the visit my cat seemed very comfortable (and my cat, Aubie is a really good judge of character). I’ve been to a few vets where it kinda felt like a cash grab, where they push services, and guilt you. This was nothing like that. Doc did a very thorough examination. And I walked away with a clear understanding of what to keep an eye on. It felt like money well spent. Thanks to the other staff too for the great, friendly service. We will be back.
