We'd wanted to add a 650+ sq ft extension to our house for years but heard of so many worrisome contractor issues that we held off until we met Thomas and his crew. They'd just finished a deep renovation of a neighbor's heritage house including interior, exterior and re/re of a foundation and drain tile. After seeing their work and talking to the neighbor we decided to go with Thomas because we were looking for somebody who was going to do a job as specified but also have integrity in each step of the project. We were delightfully satisfied if not impressed with every trade and stage of development. Obviously Thomas himself is a very capable tradesperson and it's very obvious he entrusts his crews to deliver top quality work, but also diligently checks their work and directs corrections as an advocate of the homeowner. Even when he wasn't around I observed the trades being super diligent in their work (painters picking up after themselves and being tidy, carpenters and finishers cleaning up and keeping the area tidy, plumbers and HVAC keeping us informed of our options and guiding us to the right-fit solutions while also keeping their areas organized and tidy) - never afraid to do it the right way but also do it like a pro should with proper planning, clean and safe worksite, and communicating with the homeowner when needed. The vision was an economically built flex-space that incorporated passive-hause concepts and Thomas' crew nailed it (mind the pun). The project took about 1.5 years from first shovel in the ground to final once-over checks and tweaks. Along the way there were city permitting issues, and a homeowner who was quite particular (down to the inch!) about layout and build out (e.g. HVAC unit, dimensional layouts, wall construction, roof construction and more!) but Thomas handled it as a pro and built to spec exactly what we envisioned. The final product is truly amazing, it's an intuitive and inviting space that gets complements all day long. People familiar with what goes into a build recognize the engineering that went into the retaining wall as well as just how well built and laid out the space is. 6/5 stars for Thomas and his crew! I know they do bigger projects but I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for any size of project - a contractor-homeowner relationship can be stressful and messy, I'm glad to say it was clear sailing with Thomas and his crew!
