Five years in, and our roof is leaking due to poor workmanship. Couldn't speak to anyone about it, was told to email McGuinn Homes. They replied via email that we should contact a licensed roofer as the home is no longer under warranty, There are other issues with the home too. The tankless water heater they installed is sized for a tiny home with 2 occupants, not a 1900 SF home with a family of 4. So, we're unable to run any appliances or both showers due to inadequate water pressure, and it takes forever to heat. It will cost us thousands to upgrade it. Finally, we have a crack in the grout of the master bathroom floor that was repaired at our 11-month walk through and reappeared just weeks later. The builder was dismissive of my concerns about the cause of the crack in the grout. Well, I've recently been informed that the only reason it would crack like that is if there's a crack in the foundation underneath it. I'm considering contacting a construction defect attorney as these are major costly issues that indicate shoddy construction. (There is an 8-year statute of limitations under SC law.) If I had it to do over, I would avoid this builder.

We contacted Joe at Build On Your Land when getting prices to build our forever home on our property that we own. After consulting with him and other contractors, and getting prices on floor plans, we decided that BOYL was the company that we trusted. The process was extremely simple from groundbreaking to turning over of the keys. They send out bi-weekly updates that detail each step of what to expect and what progress has been made. As far as the price point, I was quoted anywhere from $200-260/sqft in my area, and BOYL came in significantly less. Every associate that I met with the company was professional and courteous. I highly appreciate and recommend Joe Bernitt and Hunter Gravely for their work within the company and for being there for my millions of questions through the process!
