Had a problem with the battery that i bought 11 months ago from halfords, went to them with a mechanics invoice saying the problem is the battery itself and not the alternator/starter motor/parasitic drain. they tested the battery which would obviously read as charged when i’ve jump started it every day for the last week and the alternator charged it. no problem according to them, they then said its the alternator, to which i told them the mechanic had checked it and told me it wasn’t the alternator which led them to check the alternator just to tell me its working fine, which i knew. the 2 mechanics then told me i needed a new battery but would not replace my battery which was still under warranty. then was told i had to get another check from an auto electrician in order to get the battery replaced as they can’t do the checks required to warrant a replacement. utterly useless from both the retail and garage, the only positive point i have about the whole interaction is the worker with the turtle tattoo on his hand as he was nice and actually wanted to help, while the other guy was smoking as he was doing the check and gave useless tips as i was doing them all anyway. would not recommend halfords bicester to anyone, if you need a mechanic call A W B Automotive as he was a million times more helpful than either of the halfords locations. Below is a reading from the external mechanic saying the battery needed replacing as it was dead, yet halfords did nothing to help.

I have an Alpine electric tricycle and had a totally flat tyre this morning and had to wheel it home, which was very taxing physically. I rang the Halfords auto centre and spoke to a man, explained my issue and that the trike is too big and heavy to wheel it to Halfords to see if Halfords could assess it for repair. The man, who's called Kevin, came out to my address, removed the wheel (with difficulty), took it back to Halfords garage, checked it and pumped it up. Kevin then brought the wheel back and fitted it back on to my trike. Absolutely amazing service, especially as the auto centre do not usually help with bikes. Thank you Kevin for going the extra mile and helping.

I arrived today and was booked in by a nice gentleman. I had two rear tyres fitted today and I wanted to talk to the technician before he started the replacement. Robert (the technician) I spoke to as requested, he was polite, helpful and spot on. Tyres changed with no issues. I ordered and paid for the tyres online and made the appointment. My vehicle was started at the correct time and was done within thirty minutes. Great service well done.

I recently had my car's MOT done at Halfords Autocentre Bicester, and it was a fantastic experience. The process was easy, quick, and hassle-free. I didn't have to wait longer than 40 minutes. Highly recommended!
