Baritalia Surfers Paradise

Having been to Italy many times, it was incredible to find a restaurant in the heart of Surfers Paradise, that was so authentic and took you away from the noise, tourism and chaos that the Gold Coast often leaves you feeling It felt like I was back in a quieter part of Italy like Tavullia or Cattolica, and eating at a family restaurant We were a walk in on a mid week night in the absolute peak of school holiday Easter season. We were warmly welcomed and seated within a few minutes and already quite a few people there. The aesthetics were perfect and you instantly were taken away. The staff were amazing.. so attentive but with subtlety and a soft authenticity- you never ever felt hurried or felt like you were another ‘possible tip’ - they genuinely wanted to make sure you had everything you needed and were looked after The servings were so very very generous The pizza was just like something I’d have in Naples. The prosciutto was Devine and the burrata melted - so yummy. The crust was perfect and fluffy and had that delicious texture and that nice thin base so you taste the meats and cheese and sauce. -perfecto! Please treat yourself to a house Prosecco from Italy - you won’t regret it. The veal scallopini was just like I’d had in a tiny restaurant in the countryside of Umbria. It’s so hard to find somewhere that can cook veal perfectly… if was the exact kind of homely and wholesome meal I desperately needed after already a few days of eating on the Gold Coast - you know, all the tourist foods. This was like eating at Nonnas place. The serving of carbonara was so big, my teen son who can eat everything, couldnt finish it!! I am an avid negroni lover and have had them all over the world… I loved the twist of the ice ball with rosemary frozen into it and how it subtly lifted the cocktail We never once felt rushed watching other tables coming and going. Finishing with the most incredible vanilla bean gelato and a cannoli only likened to that in Sicily, with a stunning limoncello Do yourself a favour and go for dinner here And if you’re so inclined, their coffee and breakfast menu (we had takeaway) was great as well It was the best 2.5-3 hrs spent in a restaurant in a long long time. Stopped in earlier for a few drinks. Best Mojito I've found here in 3 days. Great patio on the corner for people watching. Came back for dinner & to say the food was good, would be an insult. What I ordered & recommend is highlighted. Enjoy...

very cute atmosphere and food was delicious! the crust of the pizza was so soft and tasted amazing and the bread on the panini was very crunchy and the sea salt on top added great flavour
