Having to chase down medication…then after knowing allergies catching them right before putting medicine that’s clearly on my allergy list through my IV.!!! We aren’t admitted because we feel good and some go in with severe pain that the scale they offer goes beyond. Maybe treat patients like you care and they might treat you like we do as well. Acting like patients are a burden is so wrong in healthcare so I suggest find a new career people’s lives depend on doctor’s and nurse’s if this is just a PAYCHECK then find ANOTHER JOB!! The energy you bring into the room is exactly what you get back. Treat me like I’m nothing then I show you no grace as well. I live my life for Jesus being Christ like isn’t easy especially when you have a boulder kidney stone being treated less than human and trying to give someone baby doses of medicine don’t fly anyone who has had a stone and needed surgery which I do each time understands the extreme pain last thing we need or want is an attitude!!! Start treating patients like humans with empathy and sympathy your shifts and patient’s will have a much more successful duration! When someone messes up take accountability don’t give excuses as we are humans yes I understand that but apologize! miss me with attitude and excuses this is for the cafeteria! We all have issues but when you come to work guess what YOU HAVE A JOB TO DO AND CORRECTLY! Your life outside you need to check it and leave it at the door don’t bring it with you or call off until you are better!! We don’t chose to want to be or stay there and deal with health concerns last thing we need is funky foul dispositions and to be made to feel as we are a burden IT’S A HOSPITAL IT’S WHAT Y’ALL ARE THERE FOR! If you don’t want to help or treat other’s respectfully then move it along!

I will NEVER go to another hospital! I came in with stroke symptoms, from the second I hit the door until I left the following evening (I was admitted) I received the most ultimate professional compassionate care I have ever had in my life. In a very scary situation of the fear of having a stroke.( which killed my mom and dad) I was immediately put at ease and they immediately started testing. Long story short I luckily hadn’t had a stroke, but the doctor took time to a step to figure out what caused the symptoms that I had, whereas other facilities I have been to never did! Turns out it was my medicines reacting to each other! Please give all the wonderful people who took care of me in 282 a great big raise, I know they couldn’t be paid enough! May God Bless you all! Sincerely Tisha Pickett

I was recently a patient (2 nights) in the "2 MEDICAL/PEDIATRIC" unit at the Kokomo location of St Vincent. While I was very appreciative of my nurses, I can't say the same for the "Techs". I was told to urinate in the "hat" whenever needed and not to flush the contents because they needed to see how much I was putting out. So, that's what I did.... until the hot was so full that I would be sitting in it if it wasn't emptied!! (See pic) It was disgusting!! Then, I ran out of TP & informed the tech. She brought me 2 rolls, which I was thankful for, but never installed them in the holder (2nd pic). This made it difficult to manage, with my IV pole, gown, etc, without the roll falling on the floor. It didn't help matters at all. Third, I was asked whether I wanted my door left open or closed... I requested it be closed.. Didn't happen...grrrrrr. The last straw for me was the TECHS wearing waaaayyy too much perfume! By the time I was released I was sneezing & had a constant runny nose from their lack of consideration! Just a few SIMPLE, ROUTINE THINGS that could've been done to make my stay a 9/10 experience instead of a 5/10. I know these things may seem petty, but when you're sick they aren't so trivial. I spent 20+ yrs working in hospitals and would've been embarrassed if this level of care was given at my former workplace. Do better, St V! My Mom is a cancer patient with your hospital. Imagine how mortified it would be for her to receive such poor care!!! Uncalled for... Concerned patient, Amy L. Garrison

Most of the nurses were very nice and the doctor who delivered the baby was great. One of the nurses who helped deliver name was Stephanie and she was absolutely amazing. Dr Cottingham did a great job and was so nice. There was one nurse who was very rude to a lot of our family who came to visit after the baby was born. It’s sad that one nurse would try to ruin a beautiful experience for a family. I wish I knew that lady’s name so I could put it on here. Long dark hair and skinny and was working around 7-8pm when the baby was delivered. If she doesn’t like seeing so many happy people over a brand new baby being brought into their lives she needs to find a different career so she doesn’t make others miserable like herself
