I am extremely disappointed with the service I have received from American National Insurance. My car was involved in a hit-and-run, and it took an outrageous 10 days just to get the claim filed correctly and become eligible for a rental car. Now, 47 days later, the situation is somehow even worse. There has been absolutely no communication with the body shop, which has caused significant delays in getting the damages approved. To make matters worse,an adjuster has not even come out to review the car, despite repeated follow-ups. My vehicle has been sitting idle at the shop for weeks with no progress whatsoever. And now, adding insult to injury, American National is refusing to extend the rental car, leaving me stranded without any resolution in sight. The lack of accountability, urgency, and basic communication from this company is absolutely unacceptable. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, I strongly recommend avoiding American National Insurance. This has been one of the most frustrating, unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had to endure. I would give 0 stars if possible and wouldn’t recommend to ANYONE!

Horrible! Trying to think of a word short of “scammers”. I have and have had many properties and insurance policies. Their protocols are designed to not pay what people have been paying them for, and in the time of most need. Their decisions are arbitrary, and their communication is purposefully confusing to be able to make subjective decisions to avoid paying. Very dishonest company. Insurance companies that charge premiums but don’t really insure people are defaulting in their obligation. American National does that. We have worked with good, professional people in the company. People who are polite and professional but the decision makers and policies prevent them from making honest decisions.

Well, it's good they are solid financially (supposedly), but the one and only customer service experience I've had with a 15 year old policy was awful. Seriously, do they train their staff to be rude and condescending, or is that just their requisite for a good hire. I'm not surprised to read other comments about the customer service that mirror mine.

I have spent close to a year now trying to process a $2000 dollar life insurance policy that my parents bought years ago. I have sent the paperwork in over a half dozen times. Each time after I have to reach out to someone within AN, customer service tells me something different. This time I was sent the same paperwork with additional paperwork that I had never been told about. I called again... Customer Rep Kimberly was rude and condescending while she tells me I have to fill it out again because its over a month and now outdated. Because AN can't get to there paperwork in a timely manner I now have to fill everything out AGAIN, find a notary and pay them again. This is dealing with things after the death of someone. No one seems to know what they are really doing!
