Customer experiences
We have made it to the end of a long journey with Adair. We have built three houses simultaneously and so consider this as 3 reviews in one. This was our first build with Adair or anyone. We have a long history of working with houses but never a new build. As we learned building homes is serious business with plenty of pitfalls. You are going to have issues, you are going to have stress. Adair cannot make those go away but they can be supportive. Adair’s people did a fantastic job for us. Adair makes the home selection process a breeze if you choose one their designs. 2 of our houses were custom and working with Kati on those was nearly as easy. We enjoyed working with Kati on the early part of the process and she continued to be a trusted resource for us throughout the entire project. Adair runs strict timelines for planning approval that were not possible for us to meet. Fortunately they cut us some slack as there were issues out of our control. We also had some site preparation issues that were creatively resolved by Gary and Jason. Our site had existing utilities that could be tapped from another house temporarily. Gary’s unbridled enthusiasm was a good lift in the reconstruction phase when things weren’t going our way, really appreciate him. Todd, Todd, Todd I must mention his name three times because based on how much he did for us there must be three of him. 1. Todd getting things done. He managed to keep this project on track now for 6 months. Never were we waiting on anything from Adair or a subcontractor. Need an inspection Monday morning, sub is there late Friday night. 2. Todd getting it right. This guy has an eagle eye for every detail on the project. He’s pointed out more issues and had them timely corrected than I can even list. 3. Todd the communicator. He told me today that he had other clients at Adair. For how he takes care of us and how much we talk to him he made us feel like we were the only ones. If you work with Adair I hope you’re as lucky as we were with Kati, Gary and Todd taking care of you. We now have three beautiful homes, done right and on time!
Elizabeth Grant is very knowledgeable and was willing to answer any question I sent her way. She was able to focus my indecisiveness in a respectful manner and I really appreciated being able to work with her on getting my house processed through Adair. I must have called/emailed her over a hundred times through out the whole process and not once was I met with anything short of an exuberant willingness to assist in any way she could. I continue to highly recommend Elizabeth Grant and Adair Homes to my friends & family.
My build went decent but it's been all down hill from there. Carpet didn't get secured correctly, it's been months and my vacuum keeps pulling it up and damaging it, trim not nailed in, bottom of frames not sanded and looks like crap, trim paint on body paint, nail pushing out of sheet rock. They dont respond timely and drop the ball. Its been a nightmare since we moved in. Their customer service needs help.
My build took twice as long as I was initially told and it had endless problems. The quality of their work is horrible. I’ve dealt with endless problems that have cost me tens of thousands of dollars. I spoke to everyone at all levels at the company and was promised they would make it right and never did. Even 2 years later I am still fixing issues with the house that were never corrected by Adair. From small things like toilet paper holders mounted to the wall with no backing so they fell off after a couple months. To big things like nails through water pipes causing leaks inside the walls. Or an improperly installed AC safety cutoff. Or failing to convert the gas water heater to propane so it was leaking gas into the house. And general shoddiness of the framing and drywall with seams and cracks appearing as tape lifts. I have had to put hundreds of hours into this house of my own time to make it nice. Stay as far away from this company as possible. They will cost you thousands and hang you out to dry.
