I contacted this firm last year to handle our 2023 returns. Once the returns were prepared, I pointed out multiple mistakes that could have cost thousands. The mistakes were corrected on my direction, but they would not address my GRP tax deduction properly, and I had to refile myself to have it resolved with CRA. Six months later I received correspondence from CRA indicating that Advanth had not included all income on the return. This was when I first spoke to Linda, the CPA I assumed had reviewed my return. It appeared that our file had entirely been handled by a tax assistant. They attempted to hand-wave the issue away, and said that they had explained and corrected the issue with CRA. I then received a reassessment from CRA indicating that we owed nearly $10,000, and the debt was accruing interest. Again, this is because they failed to report income on a slip that they confirmed having received at the time of the return. Do not go here if you are expecting professional services from a CPA. Chances are, you will get a tax jockey with no accountability. All for 3x the cost of going to H&R block. To your response: have you checked your emails? I’ve reached out previously, spoken to Linda directly, and indicated there are ongoing issues with the return as recently as this week.
